Well it certainly has been a long time since I've blogged, not because there was nothing to report, but because of pure, unadulterated laziness. I send out e-mails, I do facebook, and I just didn't get to the blog. I will try to change that in the future, and I beg your forgiveness. I have been told by lots of people lately that my last blog was in 2008. Well I can assure you that it won't happen again. So, to get down to business, next week, Shore Jazz and I will be playing a concert at the Caroline County Library on January 22, 2010. I promise to keep you posted of other gigs in the future, and I wish you all a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday to you All,
I have a couple of things to announce this week, so I'll get right to it.
Wednesday, 11/19, 5:30-8:30 Beach List Mixer at the Frogg Pond (see attachment please)
I am a member of this new marketing and networking group called Beach List,
and there will be food, entertainment, and fun for all.
Thursday, 11/20 6:30-9:30 Ovations Restaurant, 20 Baltimore Ave, 227-7803
We had a great time two weeks ago, and I look forward to being back.
In case you don't know, it's in the lower level of the old Epworth Church building,
now a theater, mall, and restaurant complex, and a very nice space.
The Thursday jazz night is sponsored by Sydney, the Flawless Carol is at the bar,
and it's great to see so many people who used to love Sydney's.
Hope to see you,
Holly

Holly --Thank you and Shore Jazz for an enlivening performance at my wife Hope's 60th birthday party at Sussex Pines Country Club on May 17th. While I love jazz, especially the way your group performs it, I wasn't sure about our 70 guests. It was amazing to see almost everybody listening intently, and dancing to both the slow and faster numbers. I received many compliments about the band, and about your selection of songs. It was a special moment for Hope and me to dance to "Over the Rainbow." We will be watching your blog to keep up with your appearances throughout the year.George

October, 2008
Hello to All,
I've been inside the house for the past two days, nursing myself back from a cold.
Guess the recent cold weather was a real shock to my system.
Outside of watching French movies and taking care of some paperwork,
there's not much to report, but there are a couple of upcoming gigs.
Saturday, November 1, 7:00-10:00 The Globe, Berlin, Md.
With Joe Holt and Mike McShane
Thursday, November 6, 7:00-10:00 Ovations Restaurant
20 Baltimore Ave. Rehoboth Beach ( see article below)
It will be booked as the Mike Allen Trio, featuring Holly Lane.
It's a lovely room in what used to be the basement of Epworth Church,
and they have done a very nice transformation indeed.
Hope you'll check it out!

Ovations Hosts Evening of LIVE Jazz Each Thursday
Renowned Jazz aficionado Sydney Arzt to host the Jazz performances
REHOBOTH BEACH, DE. :
Ovations Restaurant, located in the lower level of the new Theatre of the Arts complex at 20 Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, will present an evening of LIVE jazz (and sometimes blues) each Thursday evening from 7-10 PM. It’s the perfect opportunity for the area’s many jazz enthusiasts to enjoy some great wine or cocktails with friends, or perhaps dinner, at the intimate and warm new restaurant while also savoring the phenomenal sounds of truly top-notch Jazz musicians.
Renowned Jazz aficionado Sydney Arzt, formerly of Sydney ’s Blues and Jazz Restaurant, will host the evening. “I really miss seeing our former customers and look forward to reconnecting with my local friends,” said Arzt.
Jazz, from its early development until the present, has incorporated music from 19th and 20th century American popular music with some stylistic origins in Blues as well. Ovations and the Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts will present several different formats of Jazz throughout the coming months but will always honor the traditions inherent in this truly American music.

Hi Holly,
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the dinner party that you did for me with just two day's notice. The food was incredible! I have never tasted such great shrimp, you are amazing! Every guest called me the next day to let me know how much they enjoyed your dinner and your smiling face. Frankly, I was also impressed with the price.
Thank you for taking such good care of me!
Sincerely,
Vasco
